1. Junior -Attorney

Location: Addis Ababa

Salary: As per company salary scale

Main duties and Responsibilities:

Handle legal matters and court proceedings. Handle civil and criminal cases. Represent the company before courts of law and any tribunals. Identify emerging trends associated with import export that may affect the Company. Participate in research works, participate in meetings and negotiations, & prepare periodic reports.
Handel legal matters such as prepare statements of claim, defense, other pleadings and memorandum of appeal and argue before courts and/or other tribunals to protect the company’s interest.
Represent the Company or ensure that the Company is appropriately represented in courts, any tribunals, police offices, public prosecutor and other government offices on legal issues related to the Company.
Analyzes the probable outcomes of cases based on legal precedents and determine the advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits;
Attend court cases, conduct litigation, and report progress on each adjournment.
Communicate progress attendances, results and court decisions to respective supervisor.
Review court judgments and/or any tribunal orders and advise employees and concerned departments to comply with the decision.

Skill and educational background

Bachelor Degrees in Law
Work Experience :- 0-2 years relevant work experience
Excellent writing and communication skills
Business acumen – strong understanding of the business and ability to engage with internal senior business leaders to demonstrate the value of Legal to the business.
Can do, engaging solution driven mindset and attitude essential for ensuring zero business disruption.
Strong networking & influencing skills
Customer Focus
Negotiating
Ability to handle complex issues, grasp complex information and communicate simply and sensitively.
Excellent written and spoken Amharic and English. Ability to speak an indigenous language is a plus.

 2.Senior Attorney

Location: Addis Ababa

Salary: As per company salary scale

Main duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Attorney is responsible for end-to-end support of any legal matter. The responsibilities include but are not limited to providing legal advice, review of legal documents, risk assessment and management, provide inhouse training and represent the company before court of law and quasi-judicial organs.
Role holder advises the two functions to ensure legal compliance in our day-to-day operations and review current ways of working, identify gaps, propose improved ways of working and follow up execution.
Prepare template contracts for sourcing goods or services.
Update templates contracts to ensure compliance to new laws and developments
Review and approve contracts, MOU’s or any other legal documents required for the business
Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decision and operation
Apply effective risk management technique and offer proactive advises on possible legal issues
Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsels and/or government authorities) creating relations of trust
Provide clarification on legal language/interpretation to functions
Maintain current knowledge of alternation in legislation

Skill and educational background

Bachelor Degrees in Law
Minimum of 4 years related work experience
Excellent writing and communication skills

3. Legal Manager

Location: Addis Ababa

Salary: As per company salary scale

Job Description:

Responsible for legal compliance and risk management within the group ; lead and manage the legal function; to provide expert and timely legal advice to the business.
Provides expert legal services to the company in connection with all areas of commercial activity including sales, marketing and procurement
Provides expert legal support to all functions within the Company.
Leading the execution of local corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures
Provides strategic advice in respect of policies and guidelines to manage legal risk (such as standard form commercial contracts, process improvements etc
Scan new legislation and other legal developments and is proactive in the dissemination of relevant legal information to those who may benefit from such information, including by way of training and seminars for business colleagues and periodic legal audits
Represent the company in litigation, arbitration, mediation, expert determination, etc.
Make sure all terms and conditions of contractual agreements are in line with local laws, regulations and Company policy and procedure
Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
Ability to manage and prioritize a large range of tasks debriefing and securing alignment with relevant functions on time.

Skill and educational background

Bachelor Degrees in Law

Minimum of 8 years related work experience from which minimum of 2 years’ experience in management position.
Excellent communication, teamwork and influencing skills.
Real attention to detail and the ability to develop solutions for complex multi-dimensional business issues, often under time and cost pressure
A desire to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business, and to develop a profound understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
Excellent written and spoken Amharic and English.
