Duties and Responsibilites For Ethiopian Commodity Exchange(ECX):
Contributes to ensuring that the ECX Trading Servers, Clearing and settlement, AD and all hardware, and server resources are properly functioning, secured, and highly available.
Contributes in ensuring the backup of all Critical systems such as Application servers, Email, files and other related
Contributes in installing new/rebuild/repair existing or new servers.
Monitors, records, analyzes, troubleshoots, and reports Systems and application event logs
Ensures the ECX’s Corporate messaging system is functioning, optimized, highly available and secured
Monitors and optimizes critical ECX core business applications running on administer blade servers and rack servers ( HEAD OFFICE and DR)
Monitors and administers Microsoft and VMware Hypervisors, Virtual Machines Maintains local documentation and auditing security, hosting business-critical applications and databases ( HEAD OFFICE and DR), Microsoft Active Directory, DNS , DHCP, Web and File services( HEAD OFFICE and DR), Microsoft Exchange services( corporate email system) ( HEAD OFFICE and DR)
Ensures the backup of all Critical systems, Databases, files, and folders of the Exchange.( HEAD OFFICE and DR)
Ensures the proper functioning of the ECX Server and Storage infrastructure at all times on working and non-working hours, locally and remotely ( HEAD OFFICE and DR)
Coordinates information system administration and storage infrastructure of the Exchange and ensures all ECX’s externally accessed resources, such as Trading portal, Email and others are secured and functioning properly through Administering Gateway security products
Ensures that all ECX employees are authenticated and Authorized to access Server resources
Participates in System and SAN Infrastructure projects from initiation to full implementation as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Ensures storage area network is properly secured through zoning, masking, and other related technologies.
Participates in system/project testing, rollout, and certification with other IT units;
Closely works with the System, Network, Security, and Application Development teams to produce an optimal solution during new installations and troubleshoot problems;
Ensures implementation of security and audit options;
Configures storage devices, services, directories, and peripherals using established standards and requirements
Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Skill and educational background
MSc\BSc – Information Technology, Computer science, and other related fields
2/4 years of relevant experience in System Administration, SAN administration, and Virtual systems administration-related work experience
2. Senior Database Administrator

Monitors and ensures All ECX business, corporate, and market data dissemination databases including SMS/IVR databases are properly functioning, optimized, and highly available and secured.
Coordinates database infrastructure Administration of the Exchange and ensures ECX’s Databases data manipulation, modification, or reporting of ECX’s database data elements are according to ECX’s Database policy and standard document.
Ensures that all the ECX database policies and standards are followed on ECX database infrastructure.
Participates in recommending the most effective way to increase database performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, and query tweaking or index/query changes

Oversees and conducts restoration of ECX’s business databases, and ensures the backup of the eTrade Application database and all business Critical databases of the Exchange and the restoration and recovery of corrupted business databases.
Monitors the proper functioning of the ECX Database infrastructure at all times on working and non-working hours, locally and remotely, and daily ensures primary and disaster recovery site databases are synchronized
Install new, rebuild, and repair existing or new Database Servers using established standards and requirements, and prepare Database testing environment based on design requirements.
Participates and assists Application developers on efficient database design, Updates eliciting business requirements, and database development
Ensures that new database code meets ECX database policy and standards for readability, reliability, security, and performance
Provides Tier III support to resolve database administration-related tasks

4. Specialist and IT Security Quality Assurance

Duties and Responsibilites For Ethiopian Commodity Exchange(ECX):
Monitors the different security tools such as Firewall, IPS, Web Filter, Anti-Spam, and Antivirus license, repairs the IP and performs data center segmentation to maintain IT security,
Performs regular IT security audits and risk assessments on ECX and Partner Networks and systems based on the ECX ITsec. policy & ISO 27001 and deliver reports
Proactively Maintains and proposes amendments (when necessary) to the IT security policy, standards, and guidelines to support secure design, deployment, monitoring, and disposal of information systems and infrastructures.
Participates in project planning, and requirement analysis and provides security inputs for the project
Coordinates the System Security Acceptance tasks for purchased equipment and software
Helps ECX comply with National & International IT security standards
Performs Periodic security maintenance, patching, and overhaul
Executes test cases as per the test plan.
Acts as a bridge between the business and development team during functional and non-functional requirements gathering and final acceptance of software by the department;
Plans and executes script-driven automatic and manual testing for regression and all other kinds of testing.
Provides technical expertise on specific products, operating systems, and specialized environments.
Identifies coding and development issues enter them into the defect tracking system and resolve the issue with the application developer.
performs Team Foundation server configuration and deployment of application software
Liaises with other IT teams to ensure timely resolution of complex software quality assurance issues;

Position:5. Specialist-Clearing and Settlement- Clearing – Afternoon Shift

Duties and Responsibilites For Ethiopian Commodity Exchange(ECX):
Generates NOR, confirms and reconciles NOR records with settlement instructions with its validation sheet, and makes NOR ready for distribution as per SLA;
Generates and maintains all system extracted data, clearing related records, reports, and files saved consistently both on the PC, shared folder, and back-up on a hard drive.
Generates operational revenue of ECX and warehouse operator, updates records periodically, and reports the same regularly to the top management of the Exchange;
Ensures necessary clearing records are reconciled with tax extracted report, and report monthly tax information to ERCA;
Interacts with Trading Operations, Exchange Actors Admission, IT, and other functional divisions to ensure a continuous clearing process;
Prepares Post Settlement Adjustment Debit and Credit –Tax Notes, updates a respective database, monitors settlement of unpaid Debit Tax notes, and interacts with Trading Operation and Treasury and Budget Control division specific to ECX PSA.
Handles internal and external inquiries specific to clearing service.
Identifies potential risks of the clearing process, maintain and update the division risk register, and report to the immediate supervisor for possible mitigation action,

Skill and educational background
MBA\MA\MSc\BA\BSc – Banking, Finance, Accounting, BusiMBA\MA\MSc\BA\BSc – Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or other relevant business field of study
