1: Community Engagement Lead and Early Warning Officer

  • Location: Tigray 

Job Description

  • Participate in selection, registration and verification of beneficiary HHs, receive approved beneficiaries list for seeds, Commodity; food and NFI, voucher, cash support and other training.
  • Participate in transportation, distribution of seeds, Commodity, food and NFI from Woreda capital to the distribution points/kebeles together with the emergency response office.
  • Leads, guides, orients, coaches, supports the commodity distributors and Supervises and monitors, analyzes consumption of the distributed daily activities.
  • Setting up and strengthening Compliance Response Mechanism (CRM) in all FDPs.
  • EWS and Community engagement
  • Implement overall the EWS activities

Skill and educational background 

Required Professional Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in relief and/or emergency response program The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Experience:  Minimum of two years of related work.
  • Basic English spoken and written.
  • Skill in routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Able to carry out limited, un-supervised tasks.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • BA/BSc Degree in social science fields such as Rural Development, Economics, Disaster Risk Management, Agriculture and other related fields

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications 

  • EMERGENCY RESPONSE GENERAL FOOD DISTRIBUTION EXPERIENCE AND WV WFP, REST, WFP WORK EXPERIENCE IS MORE PREFERABLE.

2: Cashier

  • Location: Tigray 

Job Description

  • Effects approved cash payment, fuel coupons and materials from the store.
  • Handles cash collection and timely deposit in the bank.
  • Prepares RO/Project/AP’s revolving fund replenishment.
  • Prepares deposit voucher to record cash collection and deposits.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of physical count with bin cards and stock cards and report the results to the RO/Project/AP Finance Officer regularly.
  • As the cash custodian, he/she ensures safety deposit of financial assets, handles the material supplies according to the material management and finance guidelines of WVE.
  • Report the likely risks to the store and properties therein before any damage occurs and report any damage or missing properties in the store immediately after incidence and seek safe disposal as soon as possible.
  • Handles all bank matters except collecting check books, which have to be done by the accountants.
  • Assists the accountant in canceling payment documents, i.e. putting paid stamps on used receipts, invoices and rechecks the completeness of financial documents, approval signatures and attached financial documents.
  • Ensure receipt of all goods/materials procured/ supplied by donation into the warehouse, certify   that they are as detailed on supporting procurement documentation and accepted by incoming inspection, against issuing of Goods Receiving Note (G.R.N)
  • Properly manage goods/materials in an orderly manner according to the stock classification, oversees and administers the operations of stock movement.
  • Distribute stock items/transit items against a properly authorized warehouse requisition and adjust bin card accordingly.
  • Store management as per the standard and timely inventory and recording.
  • Maintain files appropriately to the activities of the work unit, such as invoice, copy of P/R, P/O, GRN, Warehouse Issue Ticket…etc.; distribute copy documents to the concerned work unit & staff.
  • Other key tasks given by the supervisors.

Skill and educational background 

  • Degree/ Diploma in Accounting or related field and
  • At least 3 years of experience in Cashier/Store Keeper Other NGO experience is preferred

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

Knowledge of and ability to implement integrated programs in the development and emergency context.

Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving skills.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

Office based and field travel
