1: National Programme Support Officer
Location: Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa
Salary: UN salary Scale for NOA
Duration: 9 months with possibility of extension
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of Senior Programme Support Coordinator, direct supervision of the Programme Support Coordinator, and in close cooperation with all programme units, the successful candidate will be supporting the planning, budgeting, implementation, liaison, communications, and reporting for relevant projects and programmes.
Skill and educational background
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in political or social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution
Experience:
Desirable of three/ a minimum of one year’s of relevant professional experience for MA holders or a desirable of eight/ a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience for BA holders.
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Language Skills:
Fluency in English (oral and written).
Knowledge of Amharic and other local languages
Other skills Required:
In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.
Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
Excellent writing, reporting and analytical skills.
Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
