1. Education Officer

Job Summary 

The position holder will be responsible for the implementation of the Enhancing Holistic Early Childhood Development project. She/He will work closely with various stakeholders, including parents/caregivers, Health Extension Workers (HEWs), Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) facilitators, and community leaders to ensure the successful delivery of project activities. The Education Officer will provide technical oversight and ensure the quality of the organization’s education program in humanitarian/emergency and recovery settings. She/he will also be involved in budget management, and compliance of the projects. Additionally, the officer will represent the organization at relevant regional cluster coordination meetings. This position will be based in Shire with frequent travel (50% or more) to project sites to provide on-the-spot technical support for improved program start-up and delivery.

Skill and educational background

MA/BA in Project Management or Educational Planning and Management (EDPM); Educational Leadership, Development Management; ECCD, or related field of studies.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in international NGOs, preferably in ECCD-related content dissemination.
Experience in implementing emergency programs related to education/ECCD.
Strong experience with gov’t stakeholders of education and health at the woreda level.
Computer literate.
Experience working with multicultural and diversified workforces.
Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
Knowledge of local language is an asset.

2. Senior Research MEAL Manager

Location:Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Job Summary:

The Senior RMEAL Manager under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the project meets its learning, research, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) commitments for the PlayMatters project. The incumbent will strengthen RMEAL capacity and maintain effective close working partnerships with individual consultants, relevant staff, departments, and implementing partners in IRC Ethiopia and the PlayMatters consortium to ensure high quality and coordinated implementation of the PlayMatters RMEAL functions.

The Senior RMEAL Manager will report to the PlayMatters Project Coordinator and have a dotted line technical supervision from Ethiopia country Senior MEAL Coordinator. The position holder will work closely with the Regional Senior M&E and Research Coordinator to align all RMEAL activities with the other countries and the general approach.

Skill and educational background

4 years of progressive, relevant work experience with first degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or related field from an accredited university.
3 years of progressive, relevant work experience with master’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or related field from an accredited university.
Pereferred experience & skills:
Demonstrated understanding of direct monitoring and evaluation experience, specifically in the humanitarian and development context. Experience in education projects is an advantage.
Proven experience in mobile monitoring using Kobo Collect, CommCare or other applications.
Demonstrated experience developing tools and systems for program tracking and documentation.
Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, and capacity building.
Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies, including log frame, theories of change, and assessment/evaluations.
Demonstrated experience of implementing beneficiary complaint and feedback mechanisms is desired.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and being able to visualize data in (i.e.) Power BI.
Effective, high-quality communication and writing in English, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Ability to work under pressure, long work hours if necessary, and high workload.
Able to independently organize work and prioritize tasks.
Self-motivated, honest, highly responsible, and punctual.
Being willing to travel to the three field locations regularly (appr. 40%) and to the regional workshop annually.

The incumbent will ensure the quality implementation of RMEAL activities including data collection, data entry and data analysis.

Skill and educational background

2 years of progressive, relevant work experience with first degree or diploma with 5 years in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or related field from an accredited university.
1 year of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.
Pereferred experience & skills:
Advance Excel skills.
Strong experience with data collection application Kobo and CommCare.
Strong experience with Power BI.
Proven experience with data analysis and management of large volumes of quantitative and qualitative data.
Analytical skills.
High level of computer literacy.
Language Skills:

4. Child protection Assistant

Skill and educational background
