1. PROJECT MANAGER

Place of work: Head Office (HO), Addis Ababa

Job Summary 

The purpose of the Project Manager (PM) position is to support the Program Coordinator in the implementation and accomplishment of the objectives of the WE GO project in line with CARE’s vision, goals, and program principles, standards, approaches and Long-Range Strategic Plan. In addition to supporting the Program Coordinator, she/he will be expected to have technical leadership over Agricultural marketing and investment finance component of the program.

In consultation with the supervisor and in collaboration with the project staffs and partners she/he develops annual implementation plans and budget, allocates appropriate resources to accomplish the plan, secures qualified staff and ensures that an appropriate monitoring system is in place to track progress and deviations of project implementation. To promote the highest level of staff performance the PM will provide coaching and counseling to the project staff. Holder establishes and maintains effective working relationships with key government partners and NGOs working in the same geographic areas.

Skill and educational background

MBA/MSC in Agriculture, Development Studies, Marketing, Value chain development, Livelihood Diversification, or related fields
Desired: MSC in Agriculture
Required: 7 years of work experiencerelated to agricultural production and livelihood diversification-out of which 5 years in technical leadership position
Desired: Previous work experience on market systems programs, food security program, and agriculture extension is a plus.

2. OPERATIONS OFFICER

Location: Abala, Afar

Job Summary 

The Operations officer is directly responsible for the overall effectiveness and efficiency of operations at the project office. Holder will provide supervision for staff responsible for the administration of the office and provision of financial, procurement, and human resource support services. S/he will be responsible for identifying where operational challenges exist and accountable for communication and follow-up with the Project Manager/Head of operations to agree on solutions and receive required guidance. S/he is also expected to ensure that projects receive the required operational support for quality and timely implementation.

Skill and educational background

3 years of relevant experience with the first degree and 2 years of relevant experience plus a post-graduate degree in Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
