Job Summary:

Mercy Corps Ethiopia is offering internship opportunity to local youths graduated from the University with the thinking that internship program provides opportunities for interns to practice on meaningful projects and gain practical experience in various fields, such as program management and humanitarian projects, monitoring and evaluation, research and analysis, communications, fundraising, and operations. In addition, the program intends to provide interns with professional growth, networking opportunities, and exposure to Mercy Corps’ work.

Job Requirements:

One letter of recommendation from a university / higher institution on the candidate’s personal integrity and sense of responsibility.
The intern must be a university graduated (not more than 1 year after graduation
BA/BSC degree in Statistics, Development studies, Economics, and related fields
Committed to participate in Mercy Corps Internship program for 6 months as an intern with small stipend.
Fluent in local Language, Somali, and Excellent in English (MC working language), and the candidate must also from local area (Somali Region)
Who can bring/submit one recommendation letter from the University on the intern’s personal integrity and sense of responsibilit
Living Conditions: The internship should be based in the intern’s home location.

2. MSD Intern

Job Summary

Mercy Corps is implementing a five-year, Feed the Future USAID-funded Resilience in Pastoral Areas (RiPA North) aimed to improve the resilience capacities of households, markets, and governance institutions across the Somali, Afar, and Oromia regions, collectively contributing to enhanced food security and inclusive economic growth for the targeted community. RIPA, implemented by Mercy Corps, CARE, local partners, and government has four development-focused intervention areas aimed at building resilience.

Job Requirements:

BA/MA in Economics, Business, Argo-Economics, management and other related field of study.
One letter of recommendation from a university / higher institution on the candidate’s personal integrity and sense of responsibility.
Graduated from University in the past three years
Zero years of work experience required.
Good interpersonal communication skills
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent knowledge of spoken & written Local Language/Oromifa/ and English
Living Condition: The internship should be based in the intern’s home location.
