1.Mobile health Team lead

Location: Erar/Babile, Somali

Job Summary:

The Purpose of this role is to provide essential support to Save the Children’s emergency programmes in Afar, focusing on promoting accountability to beneficiaries with the objective of empowering communities and obtaining feedback on SC UK projects leading to improved quality and impact. The incumbent will work very closely with the MEAL Coordinator as well as all concerned project staff and project beneficiaries in establishing accountability mechanisms.

Skill and educational background

  • BSc/College Diploma in Nursing and/or other health related fields.
    At least Four years working experience in the field out of which two years NGO experience in related field
    Experienced in nutrition and health program implementation –data collection and compilation, working with counterpart for lasting intervention, training of health workers, etc.
    Good written and spoken ability of the local language
    Extremely flexible, able to work independently, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations.
    Interest in and ability to work in team. .
    Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
    Ability and willingness to work in remote and potentially insecure environments.

2. Sr. Supply Chain Coordinator

Location: Gambella, Gambela

Job Summary:

Position will ensure an effective and accountable Supply Chain/logistics support system is in place in line with Save the Children’s global as well as SC-Ethiopia’s national policies and procedures at the field office. The post holder will also be responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of effective procurement, fleet, construction, warehousing, and asset management practices of the field office.

Skill and educational background

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the Management of the entire Supply chain / Logistics function and preferably in the INGO environment, including significant field operations experience running both development and emergency programs.
  • Minimum Qualified for BA Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Development Studies, or other business management fields
    Field-level experience in procurements and logistics for INGOs in international development and emergency programs
    Knowledge of key institutional donors and their compliance requirements in respect of logistics and procurement
    Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation, and coaching.
    Experience in solving complex issues through analysis, the definition of a clear way forward, and ensuring buy-in.

  • Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies including travelling at short notice and for extended periods.

3. Data Clark

Job Summary:

The post Holder will be responsible for CP program data management including management of the Child Protection Information Management System. The role holder will ensure correct data entry, safe custody of all quantitative and qualitative data related to comprehensive case management (CP and GBV) and Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) in accordance with Case Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). S/he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the CPIMS (Database) and ensure confidentiality. The post holder will ensure timely and efficient data entry, analysis and proactively share CPIMS data with the CP team and support GBV data management as well. S/he will submit regular reports (e.g. daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and quarterly) to the Child Protection and GBV Officers.

Enter Data accurately and in a timely manner from all case management forms into the inter-agency child protection database, request additional information from CP/GBV staff, submitting the forms, when necessary, ensure efficient data capture processes and generate reports on caseload and statistics for the CPIMS+ Coordinator or line Manager or other partners when required.

Skill and educational background

  • Minimum Diploma/Degree in Information technology, computer science, Information system or related certificate from recognized examining body.
  • Excellent proficiency in computer usage, particularly with MS Excel.
    Knowledgeable on CPIMS+ database, statistics or other related fields.
  • Strong self-starter, able to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Spoken and written English to an acceptable standard.
  • Able to work with tight deadlines and under pressure.

4. WASH Officer

Location: Guto Gida and Sibu Sire Woredas of East Wollega Zone., Oromia

The WASH Officer will assist with the design, development and implementation of the WASH activities. The position holder will be specifically focused to address water and sanitation needs in the SCI-targeted Woreda community to assist in WASH program development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH activities. The positions involve training and monitoring school health clubs, community/sanitation agents, Health Extension Workers (HEWs), HDAs and WASH committee members with frequent trips to the project sites and organising hygiene promotion campaigns to the communities on key hygiene messages. As part of the assignment the position holder is expected to identify, design and develop materials/manuals on appropriate hygiene promotion and community sanitation; conduct baseline survey and need assessment concerning sanitation and hygiene practice and outbreaks. S/he is expected to liaise with communities, local authorities and other agencies regularly to ensure coordination and effective implementation activities and participate in a meeting regarding hygiene promotion/ sanitation; collect data and statistics concerning issues that relate to water & sanitation and prepare and submit on a weekly/monthly basis. He also supervise and follow up the WASH Constructions activities in the areas.

Skill and educational background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in /Water Engineering/ /Sanitary science/Communications, and relevant with 3 years of relevant work experience in an NGO environment
    Relevant professional background in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)
    Good understanding of the linkages between WASH, public health, and development
    General knowledge of international/intergovernmental institutions, and a solid interest in humanitarian
    response and development
    Community mobilization and development, familiar with a participatory approach
    Technical background and knowledge in environmental health and demonstrated work experience in designing & implementing sanitation and hygiene promotion programs and events.
    Knowledge, training and experience in Community lead Total Sanitation (CLTS) and community mobilization, /BCC/IEC materials preparation.
    Experience Of WASH constructions activities follow up and supervising.
    Knowledge, training and experience in WASH and community mobilization/SBCC program implementation
    Knowledge of and experience working through HDA structure and with communities
    Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation and monitoring.
    Demonstrated skills in peer group training, Training of Trainers and development of training materials.
    Proficiency in spoken and written Affan Oromo and English.
    Strong computer and interpersonal skills.
    Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    Knowledge of the local language of the duty station advantageous
