1.Division Manager Kiln

Purpose of the Job:

To enhance production of the right quantity and quality of cement with the lowest possible cost by leading the optimal utilization of resources and efficient running of raw mill, and clinker production.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  •   Lead efficient running of raw mill, and clinker production, by planning, securing, deploying and managing personnel and other resources to make sure production targets are met.
  •  Review consumption of spare parts, power utilization, overtime and other costs.
  •   Review operational reports, analyse downtime, and arrange for any corrective action required.
  •   Review production schedules to make decisions concerning inventory and staffing requirements, work procedures and duty assignments.
  •   Oversee employees, efficiency of the production process to make sure the clinker production is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently and safely.
  •  Maintain optimum operation by effective utilization of available resources.
  •   Review logs, datasheets, and reports to ensure adequate production levels, safe environments and identify abnormalities with operations, equipment or processes.
  •  Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the raw mill and clinker production.
  •   Conduct employee training in equipment operations, work and safety procedures, and assign experienced workers as a coach to trainees.
  •    Request necessary materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services for clinker production and material storage.
  •  Ensure the quality of clinker production is done as per the specification set.
  •  Prepare periodic reports on the achievements, developments and hurdles.
  •    Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the raw mill, coal mill and clinker production.
  •   Ensure that the Thermal & Electrical energy consumption meets the budget & plan numbers in all units (Raw material Handling/Raw Mill/Coal Mill & Kiln area).
  •   Ensure all the employees & daily labourers are following safe work procedures (Confined space/ Working at Heights & Hot Meal Handling).

Generic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Division’s plans and objectives.
  •  Develop, approve and monitor the Division’s budgets.
  •   Identify human resources requirements of the Division and develop plan for meeting the requirements.
  •  Develop, implement and review relevant divisional policies and procedures.
  •    Review, approve and submit Divisional reports to relevant organs.
  •  Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, ongoing performance dialogue and feedback.
  •  Manage disciplinary concerns of the Division’s staff.
  •   Represent the Division in internal and external relationships.
  •  Participate in group decision making process by forming part of different groups/committees.
  •   Ensure safety, accident & housekeeping preventions implemented well in the workplace.
  •  Ensure the implementation of all government (Federal and Legal) regulations and requirements.
Skills Competencies & Educational background
  •  Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related fields with four (4) years of demonstrated experience out of which two (2) years in a supervisory position

Or

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related fields with six (6) years of demonstrated experience of which three (3) years in a supervisor position.

2.VRM/Coal Mill Operator

Purpose of the Job:

To enhance quality of cement production and optimal use of energy by monitoring and maintaining adequate clinker and coal using computer based controlling system.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  •    Monitor equipment operation, gauges, alarms, and panel lights to detect deviations from standards.
  •   Confer with supervisors or other equipment operators to report equipment malfunctions or to resolve production problems.
  •   Activate, set, and regulate CCR equipment according to specifications.
  •   Ensure quality of clinker production aligned with the standard specification/ parameters.
  • Record gauge readings and test results in the log book/sheets.
  •   Read and interpret work orders and instructions to determine work assignments, process specifications, and production schedules.
  •   Calculate amounts of materials to be loaded into VRM/Coal Mill, adjusting amounts as necessary for specific conditions.
  •   Stop equipment and clear blockages or jams.
  •   Replace worn or defective equipment parts jointly with Mechanic and Attendants.
  •    Participate in maintenance and blockage demolition works.

Skills Competencies & Educational background

  • Advanced Diploma or Diploma or Level V in GMFA or Diploma in Chemical Engineering or related fields with two (2) years of experience.

Purpose of the Job:

To enhance performance and reliability of electrical systems and components of assets by leading the design, fabrication and delivery of appropriate engineering solutions.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, fabrication and delivery of appropriate electrical engineering solutions.
  •   Follow up the proper identification and planning of adequate supply of consumable electrical materials and tools.
  • and equipment according to available specifications.
  •  Follow up preventive maintenance activities are done as per guidelines and procedures.
  •  Lead the diagnosis of electrical systems to locate malfunctions using visual inspections and testing instruments.
  •   Monitor all aspects of electrical workshops operation including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication and operation of product designs.
  •   Ensure the proper establishment of the electrical workshops safety procedures, and service schedules to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.
