Abay Bank would like to invite qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following post.

Abay Bank has fulfilled all the necessary requirements of the National Bank of Ethiopia to set up a bank, and officially established on July 14th 2010 and started full-fledged banking operations on November 3, 2010. Currently, paid up-capital of the bank is Birr 4.733 Billion/ Four Billion Seven Hundred Thirty three Million Birr as of June 30, 2023, and the number of share holders reached 4,437/ Four Thousand Four Hundred Thirty Seven. The Bank is poised to serve all economic sectors through its network of branches. It extends its services to domestic trade and services, international trade, agriculture, industry, transportation, construction and real estate sectors.

1. Customer Service Supervisor – Grade – 1

Job Summery:

The Customer Service Supervisor is responsible to countersigns on tickets/vouchers and authorizes transactions. To follow up all cheque clearance activities and accounts of suspense nature. To ensure and follow up reconciliation of accounts and other related tasks.

Skill and educational background

BA Degree in Economics/ Accounting/ Management/ Business Administration/ Finance and Accounting or business related field of study with a minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in banking operations.

2. Administrative Assistant

Job Summery

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for registering and filing Letters, minutes, circulars, memoranda and other materials. Screens visitors, schedules appointments and arranges telephone contacts to and from supervisor. Keeps custody of correspondent files, other confidential materials and petty cash, opens, sorts and routes incoming mail.

Skill and educational background

BA/Diploma in Secretarial Science & Office Management/ Administrative Service Management with 2/4 (two/four) years related work experience.

Place of work: Head Office and Hawassa District

3. Human Capital Development Officer

Job Summery:

Human Capital Development Officer is responsible to identify training and development needs within the company through job analysis and appraisal schemes.

Design and expand training and development programs based on the needs of the department and the individual. Identify and select relevant training institutions.

Develop and support effective induction program for new staff, apprentices and graduate trainees. Supervise ongoing training programs.

Evaluate training and development programs.

Skill and educational background

Minimum BA Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration or Management or Public administration with a minimum of 3(three) years related work experience in human resource management.

4. Chief Security Officer

Job Summery:

Chief Security Officer is responsible to supervise and coordinates the security operations and activities in the Bank found in Addis Ababa and outside of the city. The job holder ensures that the security force of the bank is performing well. Studies, proposes and introduces improved methods of security system/techniques/ in the bank. Follow up outsourced security guards. Coordinates patrol and monitors security activities of the bank at all levels.

Skill and educational background

BA in Police Science from police college with a minimum of 5(Five) years’ work experience security/military activities.

5. Branch Manager – Grade – 1

Job Summery:

The Manager plans and coordinates the overall activities of the branch, and follows-up and evaluates Branch’s operations/targets on established performance parameters. He/she motivates and coaches the customer service officers responsible for the delivery of high quality service. He/she identifies and recruits potential customers and provides professional advice and others.

Skill and educational background

BA Degree in Management/ Economics/ Accounting & Finance/ Marketing/ Banking & Finance/ Business Administration or other business related field of study with 6(Six) years’ work experience in banking operations, out of which 2(two) year in supervisory position.

6. Store Keeper – I

Job Summery:

He/she is responsible to maintain proper inventory list of all fixed assets of the bank, to receive and to store materials and supplies against a copy of Bank’s purchase order and Delivery invoice of the supplier, to issue materials from stock per requisition, and to hand over stock to receiving organs or employees of the bank. He/she maintains an inventory record for each of the item under his or her control and updates records of all receipts and withdrawals;

Skill and educational background

BA Degree in Procurement and supplies Management/Supplies Management/Management/Accounting, or business related field of study with a minimum of 2(two) years in property management related work experience.
