1. Finance Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Job Summary 

Under the supervision of Senior Finance Manager, the Finance Officer-disbursement will be responsible for maintaining and managing day to day check payment preparation, bank transfer letter and CPO and maintaining BTJ at IMC country office and work closely with senior finance officers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures that IMC Ethiopia financial and operational activities are in compliance with Ethiopian (tax law, ACSO law, and government pension agency laws), Donor rules and regulations, and IMC policies and procedures.
Responsible for the preparation of check payments and wire transfers to suppliers, vendors and IMC field offices and handle cash payments as per the Organizational procedures.
Control bank account balances and report when the balance is low so as to take the necessary action before checks are written.
Responsible for the daily cash position report to head office/Split finance
Responsible for daily data update on the BTJ template and share with the senior finance officer for review and posting;
Maintain Withholding tax deductions and other related statutory deductions are adhered and filed
Participate in the preparation/review of monthly financial reports before shared to Split office.
Check validity of expenses and receipt presented for payment with respect to reasonable, allowable and allocable basis;
Reviews payment request documentations for completeness and signs “prepared by” on the payment voucher indicating that the check and voucher has been accurately prepared,
Assist in internal audit, external audit and donor specific audit assignments and response for their quires;
Handle monthly cash transfers to the field office once approved by the Finance and Admin Director
Fulfill other duties, as assigned by your line manager.

Skill and educational background

Bachelor Degree in Finance &Accounting, Economics, or relevant field.
Minimum 4 years’ experience directly related to financial management or accountancy, preferably with an international organization (NGO)
Active knowledge of English language writing and speaking
Proficiency in financial Accounting software like Cost-Point, Sun System & MS Excel and MS Word as well as good grasp on Internet and email communication.
Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.

2. Logistics Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Job Summary:

The Logistics Officer is responsible for supporting the delivery of all logistics-related activities in the field during an emergency response, including supporting local procurement, stock management, fleet management, and infrastructure setup/demobilization.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.

Skill and educational background

BA Degree in Logistics, Procurement, Management, or related field with 1-2 years of experience in humanitarian logistics within the field of supply chain management (procurement, tendering, contracting, clearance, transport, warehousing, etc.) fleet management and asset management, and distribution support.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including MS Word and Excel, as well as email communications and other computer programs.
Professionalism, Honesty, Integrity.
Knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures involved in procurement and reporting
Ability to plan, organize and direct the work engaged in the day-to-day activities
Ability to accomplish tasks within a reasonable period
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English.

3. Compliance officer

Location: Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct compliance document review in accordance with agreed country office compliance workplan
Regularly verifies progress made towards compliance recommendations and agreed action plan.
Develop compliance periodic reports and share with supervisor regularly.
Based on compliance checks and reports develop organizational wide targeted improvement plans including a suite of tools that improve control measures
Provides consultation and advisory services to the staff and engages with other departments to support improvements in internal controls.
In coordination with senior management develop risk identification checklist along with its mitigation plan
Ensure that record keeping of compliance reviews document kept on shared file is timely, accurate and complete.

Skill and educational background

University degree in accounting, preferably in business administration/ or audit
Typically, 2-3 years of experience, preferably in a similar position
Strong time management, problem solving and follow up skills.
Experience in risk management, compliance and /or audit preferred.
Familiarity with different types of instruments (Grants, contracts, sub-award, consortium, etc)
Familiarity with various business processes (HR, Program management, Finance, Logistics, IT, etc.)
Knowledge and work experience with BHA/ USAID, UNHCR, WFP, UNICEF, EHF, UNFPA, UNOCHA, and other donors)
Strong communication skills and good know- how with excel, word and PowerPoint.
Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.
Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate, facts, define problems, draw valid conclusion, prepare, and present concise reports in English.
Ability to establish and retain effective work relationships with other staff and communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability and willingness to travel to in-country operational areas as needed.
Local language and English with solid communication and writing skill.
