It borders six African countries: Djibouti, Eritrea, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan, and covers 1,104,300 square kilometers. Approximately 85 percent of the population lives in rural areas. 1:Construction Specialist
Skill and Educational Background
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture or other relevant area.
- A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
- A minimum of Five (5) years of relevant professional experience in the national and/or international levels, in projectmanagement, site supervision, quality assurance and/or other directly related technical fields is required.
- Understanding development and humanitarian work is an assest.
Emergency experience is an advantage.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

2. Programme Officer (Humanitarian Cash Transfer)
Skill and Educational Background
- A first university degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Social Policy, Development, or another relevant technical field
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in providing programmatic and operational support to cash transfer programs, preferably in both humanitarian and social protection contexts. - Experience with shock-responsive social protection is desirable.Background and/or familiarity with emergency is considered as a strong asset.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with partners.Resourcefulness, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize and manage a significant workload under pressureStrong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Experience in working within government-led programmes.
UN work experience is an advantage.
