1:Senior Datacenter Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Job Description:

Involve in the implementation of the strategic direction of the IT infrastructure, environments Data Centre administration.
Manage the implementation of the IT policy, procedures and documents.
Perform the design, setup, installation, integration and operation of Data Center facilities to meet the business’ requirements.
Monitor all servers, back-up devices, operating systems and environmental systems are installed, configured and always functioning optimally.
Manage and monitor all Data Centre assets such as computing devices and facilities (electrical systems, power sources, UPS, AC, humidity, smoke and fire detection, flood detection, surveillance cameras, door access, etc.)
Manage physical access to Data Centre.
Perform corrective and periodic preventive maintenance of Data Centre equipment’s.
Perform cleaning and dust removal of the Data Centre facilities.
Work with vendor and monitor all Data Centre infrastructure support activities.
Manage the successful delivery of Data Centre and other projects.
Conduct periodic Data Centre infrastructure performance metrics.
Involve in the design of Data Centre capacity planning and build business continuity.
Execute the upgrade and migration of Data Centre infrastructures.
Manage high availability, confidentiality, integrity and reliability of Data Centre infrastructure.
Provide support services to users within established SLAs;
Work with all relevant IT and other work units in the group.
Involve in research of Data Centre technologies and standards.
Build knowledge base from the lessons learned.
Manage incidents timely.
Provide training, coaching and mentoring of employees within the department towards effective career development.
Prepare periodic reports.
Attend incidents, interruptions, malfunctions, and system quality reductions at any moment.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Skill and educational background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ICT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years’ relevant experience.
