1. Accountant – Intern

Location: Addis Ababa

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Grant & Finance Manager, the Accountant is responsible for maintaining and periodically review, reconcile and balance accounting records for the QHA in the central office.

Skill and educational background

  • Recipient of a college diploma or degree in accounting, finance or business administration with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 and above
    Must have the willingness to work cooperatively with staff from diverse cultures
  • Good computer skills in the Office and QuickBooks accounting software require
  • Excellent command of Amharic and English language essential
  • Ability to work independently and excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member
    Willingness to travel and work in the activity implementation regions
    willingness to learn of various donor requirements and grant reporting
    Excellent networking and partnership-building skills
    Speaking of more than one local language is a plus.

2. Finance Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Job Summary:

The Finance Officer duties are processing accounting transactions, budget monitoring, and verification of compliance. The finance officer complies with all government taxes, statutory requirements, and other rules and processes as well as the ethical principles, policies, and procedures of JSI. The finance officer will generate the necessary reports in collaboration with the finance, grant, and operation team.

Skill and educational background

  • Master’s Degree in Commerce or Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant or MBA (Finance) with 8-10 years of experience in financial accounting;
    Experience with QuickBooks accounting software;
    Strong working knowledge of government rules and regulations
    A good understanding of USAID rules and regulations;
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships at all levels;
    Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a large team;
    Demonstrated fluency in written and oral English is required.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems and follow-up
    Speaking of more than one local language is a plus.

3. Senior Supply Chain Advisor

Location: Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa

The Job Involves improving the health system’s supply chain at downstream levels by diagnosing systemic bottlenecks and developing innovative solutions to improve last-mile delivery of commodities, creating a detailed plan, improving the capacities of health workers and managers in facilities and woredas, providing technical oversight of program implementation, and collaborating with partner organizations. It also requires working with government agencies to plan and build capacity, conducting supervision, and producing data insights and policy briefs.

Skill and educational background

  • A degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, or other related fields with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience in Government and NGOs.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing interventions on last-mile supply chain delivery for RMNCHN programs
    Experience in providing technical support to implementing donor-funded programs or interventions will be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in teams across partners, consultants, other donors, and international organizations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to frequently travel to support technical activities.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical information and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.

4. Senior Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Advisor

Location: Addis Ababa

Job Summary:

The Position requires a comprehensive diagnosis of the health system in terms of maternal, newborn, child health, immunization, and nutrition interventions and designing innovative approaches to address identified gaps and challenges. The Senior MNCH advisor is supposed to provide thoughtful technical leadership in ensuring structures and process improvements for MNCH-N services delivery across PHC facilities in implementation sites. The role involves working closely with the HRH, Family Planning (FP), gender, digital health, and supply chain advisors of the SSD, as well as collaborating with the IPHCSD and eCHIS projects’ technical team to ensure effective coordination and integration of MNCH activities. The successful candidate will also need to lead the development of annual work plans and budgets, provide technical support and guidance to project staff, partners, and stakeholders on MNCH and nutrition issues, and advocate for policy and programmatic changes to improve MNCH outcomes, among other duties.

Skill and educational background

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in public health, and at least 10 years of experience in planning and implementing MNCH programs, including nutrition programs.
    Coaching and capacity-building skills in key programs of maternal, newborn, and child health, immunization, and nutrition.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition interventions
    Advanced understanding of national MNCH policies, strategies, and guidelines.
  • Experience in developing donor relationships, working with technical working groups, and working with government partners, and partner agencies.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Ethiopian health system.
    Strong policy analysis and policy engagement experience.
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in MNCH programs and policies.
    Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong result orientation, with the ability to work dynamically in a changing environment.
    Excellent writing and speaking skills in English language.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to regions throughout Ethiopia
