1.Senior Project Associate (Peace and Development Coordination)
Location: Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa
Employment Type: Full time
Salary: As per UN Salary Scale – G6 (USD 1,713.25)
Type of Appointement: One Year Fixed Term (OYFT) Contract, with possibility of extension
Job Summary:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in coordination with the Head of Programs, the direct supervision of the Program Manager, Peace and Development Coordination (PDC), and in coordination with relevant units and project staff, the successful candidate will be supporting the planning, development of new projects, monitoring, and project reporting and will contribute to project implementation within the PDC in close collaboration with relevant units and senior staff.
Skill and Educational background
School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience:
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Skills
Knowledge of project implementation in displacement affected communities.
Proven knowledge and experience in working with partners including government officials.
Good analytical skills and data analysis.
Language:
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge Amharic and other local languages.
